East Harris County Empowerment Council Connecting Community to Opportunity.

Hope for the Holidays is an annual seasonal event that provides food, financial assistance, and toys to neighbors.

During the holiday season each year, the East Harris County Empowerment Council (EHCEC) plays a crucial role in supporting families in East Harris County. This vital assistance includes providing food, financial aid, and toys to neighbors in need helping them celebrate the holidays with joy.

Mareo Hendrickson, M.Ed., Director of Community Engagement & Partnerships at EHCEC, extends a heartfelt thank you to all the generous donors who have made this impactful work possible: Islamic Relief USA, HEB, UnitedHealthCare, United HealthCare Dental, Targa, The Houston Museum of Natural Science, Texas Southern University National Alumni Association Metro Houston Chapter, and the Children’s Museum of Houston. “Your unwavering support is the cornerstone of our ability to bring about positive change in the communities we serve. We are immensely grateful for your contributions and dedication to our mission,” says Hendrickson.

It’s through this collective effort and support that EHCEC continues to make a meaningful difference by connecting community to opportunity.
