Community Builder’s Academy empowers individuals in East Harris County to become agents of change by providing them with leadership opportunities to address important issues in their community. Eligibility
To participate, you must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, access to technology (computer, wifi), and not have attended the academy before.

Participants must be 18 years or older.

The program serves residents of the following zip codes: 77015, 77029, 77044, 77049, 77530, 77532, 77547 (Channelview, Crosby, Galena Park, Jacinto City, North Shore, Sheldon).
Duration
Duration of Each Academy:
- The Fall/Winter Cohort Retreat begins on August 24, 2024, and includes all meals.
- The Fall/Winter Cohort consists of weekly classes from August 2024 to February 2025.
- The Spring/Summer Cohort Retreat is scheduled for January 25, 2025.
- The Spring/Summer Cohort includes weekly classes from January 2025 to July 2025.
Graduation Dates
- The Fall/Winter Cohort graduation is scheduled for February 2025.
- The Spring/Summer Cohort graduation is scheduled for July 2025.
